The Way Things Work.

The Way Things Work. David Macaulay. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1988. I must have confused this with another how-things-work type book. When I picked it up, I didn’t expect that the things working would be illustrated with lots of woolly mammoths. Or maybe it’s one mammoth in a variety of situations. Mechanics, “elements”—earth, air, fire, water—electricity and so on.
